Well-performing siding helps to give you peace of mind that your home stays in the best condition possible and to help improve or maintain your home value if you decide to sell your home in the future. Quality work and quality materials are crucial for keeping the cold out and the warmth in during the winter months and vice versa during the remainder of the year.

Good quality siding does more than enhance the appearance of your home, it helps to prevent water from entering through the walls and will improve your energy efficiency.

When is it time to replace your siding?

• If your siding is rotting or warping.
• If your siding has holes or is damaged.
• If you see water stains on your interior walls.
• For no apparent reason, your heating or cooling expenses have increased.

If you are thinking about changing your home’s siding to a different style or color, this should be a decision you definitely give a lot of thought to and should work with a contractor with experience and has a good standing within the community.

What siding is best for your home? It’s important to check with your HOA if you have one, to make sure there aren’t any restrictions you must abide by. When starting the process, there are a few important things to consider such as curb appeal, the architectural style of your home, the weather conditions, the maintenance needed for what you choose, durability, warranties and your budget.

There are a few options available for siding but the most popular are the following:

• Vinyl Siding – the most widely used in Central Ohio, due to its durability, cost and it’s easy to maintain. Depending on the weather throughout the year, vinyl usually just needs an annual cleaning with a water hose or power washed.
• Insulated Siding – This vinyl siding has been reinforced with foam insulation. It serves two purposes, you can enhance the appearance of your home while decreasing the heating and cooling expense at the same time. The foam not only helps to insulate your home, it also provides additional stability for the siding panels.
• Fiber Cement Siding – This siding is a composite of wood, fiber, sand, clay and cement. It’s becoming very popular in Central Ohio since it can look like a wood lap siding board, cedar shingles and wood shake. Known for its longevity of typically 30-50 years and it’s available in many color options.
• Cedar Siding – This natural wood product has many attractive features and is biodegradable making it an excellent option for “green homes.” It’s stunning when stained, it can be cut into numerous styles to fit the architectural design of your home and it maintains a timeless aesthetic appeal. Properly maintained it can last as long as 75 years.
• Vinyl Shake Siding – The beauty of wood with the durability of vinyl, you can have the best of both worlds! No painting, no staining, no rotting or fading and it’s easy to maintain.

Home renovations are our specialty, in addition to siding replacement, we offer gutter replacement, roof replacement, window replacement and sunroom additions.

We gladly work with your insurance agency for damage claims.
